Anyone have any simple wood guitar hangers they have made. I want to hang my ukulele and guitars on the wall. My wife doesn't care for the 16 penny galvanized nails I pounded in the wall! Go figure?! I'm thinking a wood back with two dowels sticking out. Sure appreciate it if someone has something they wouldn't mind putting a picture on here for. Otherwise I'll figure something.
Thanks

These are just for me but angling the dowels out is a good idea, than I could have several made up. I did angle the dowels up a little but I need to do a little more to compensate for the plaque hanging at an angle because the hanger on the plaque sticks out a little. Good idea coating the dowels also. Maybe the easiest would be some clear tubing.
Ya, my wife thought this was a better idea than the 16 penny nails, but she is not real forth coming with compliments, least not to me....
Thanks for the suggestions and thanks Gene.

Nice design Paul. Maybe the solution to varying size necks is to angle the dowels outward. Are these for your guitars and your wall or will they be for sale? Just for your instruments it's not a problem to space the dowels for each one.
I still think that the dowels should be coated with something so that wood doesn't contact the neck/headstock.
Well today I got busy and made a prototype of what I had in mind. I think it will work. I can make several plaques to have ready but I will have to add the dowels for each guitar because each will be a little different width. It holds the guitar out far enough that the back doesn't touch the wall so it won't get scratched. Now I will make them out of some nice wood and use smaller dowels
