guitar amp hum problem

I'm on my first cbg build.  It sounds great when pluged into my Rogue battery operated amp but when I add a power pack and a effects pedal it hums like crazy but quits when I touch the metal casing on the guitar cable which is a shielded. Can anyone help me. BTW i am using a piezo pickup with volume control i purchased through C B Gitty.

try running it just on batteries, when you plug it into the wall it will hum more than on batteries, try to have everything on just battery power, see if that works, lastly ground the plug to the strings, then when you play all will be grounded to you

thanks BJ.  both my amp and effects pedal run on either 9v battery or the opitional power pack which saves battery life.  i have no

problem with touching the strings there fine.
