<p> Are you drilling the string holes right at the glue line, or slightly above / below? (photo's a bit fuzzy - looks like 'slightly above' to me) I have a (probably unwarranted) concern about the string tension pulling right through the seam.</p>

<p>Hi, you would want to use a hard wood, rosewood in this case, the white is the bone saddle, or it could be plastic, bone gives better response normally.</p>
