I love the colour of the Cohiba boxes I've used for 3 builds , now I want to start making a couple of boxes for License Plate builds and want to stain the boxes and try and get some where near to this colour , any one any ideas ? .

Or just go nuts, and spray with abandon. Splotchy, camo, stripes, grids, taped off areas. Play with it. Have fun. No Rulz!
Found this on the web
I've rarely had luck with water based stains... raises the grain, and hard to get even... I always use oil based stains. works better for me, anyway...
The chart is just to see what colour is the best match , haven't decided on what type of stain to get .
Thanks guys but not sure you can buy " sample cans " in the UK , i'll have a look in my local DIY store , if it ever stops raining ! : ( .
What i call sample cans are actually the little 1/2 pint cans.
What Nate said, Minwax 201B Golden Oak... Pretty darn close. The final color is totally dependent on the base wood, though...
I dont know which cohiba box your referring to, but the standard cohiba that i see a lot looks to be a golden oak color. I would just get a couple sample cans of stain and test them on a bit of fall off left over from you box build. if its that sunburst looking box your going to need access to an airbrush and three different colors gradually getting lighter from a walnut to a golden oak or so.
