I had no trouble finding a big-enough box for my resonator guitar, but now that I've assembled all the bits for my "solidbody" electric, I can't find a decent-sized box.
To accommodate the scale length on the strat neck I have, it's got to be at least 12" long, better 14".
I thought of gluing two small boxes together, but that's TOO big; puts the bridge in an odd-looking place.

Now, that's a big box. Looks like you could make a bass out of it. I have a biggish Cohiba box "waiting" at a local store, they promise to call me when it's empty...
Hi, I have built 3 CBGs using strat necks and found wooden slide boxes (for 35mm film slides) to be ideal. The ones which hold 175 slides are 12 x 9 x 2.5 inches. They come up fairly often on ebay and I paid about £6 to £8 including postage for each one.
