I`ve never actually used it but having had a look on the tinterweb it seems to give a great finish but there are potential problems. Firstly some people have had issues with sun damage after a time. Not a major problem as I think that happens with most wood dyes over time.

The biggest issue for me is that, historically there have been health issues with it. When first discovered it was said to be very toxic. Obviously there ill have been improvements but even now gloves, masks and ventilation seem to be the order of the day.

It is inexpensive, looks good and probably good enough for the Chinese to use in their builds!

I`ll be curious to hear any user comments that will allay any health fears.

I like mixing Watco Transparent Danish oil or MinWax Tung oil with artist’s oil paint. Teak oil works well as a base too? Good luck on this, let us know what you find out?

I have used the Keda dyes.I mixed the according to the directions using a pint of water. I would try using less water which should intensify the color. Interesting stuff to work with, a lot different than wood stain.
