See if you can tell exactly where on the string that it is failing. I suspect you might have an abrasive spot on the nut or bridge that is wearing on the string in that particular place.

Thanks, that is what I also thought but it seems to crack exactly at the tuner machine head. I have the feeling that there is too much tension on the string... probably because of the tunnel?

check the hole in the tuning head for burs. Alot of the cheaper tuners....and sometimes expensive ones....can have a bur or remnant of the chrome plating that will slice a string under tension. There may be an extreme angle going on near the tuners, but that would likely affect all 3 strings.

Take a length of the broken string and run it through the hole like a file...working around the edges of the hole.
