Yes, it's happening again! This is going to be another top notch happening. Featured performers booked so far - Hollowbelly, Tinqui8 (France), Bluesbeaten Redshaw, plus workshops lead by Chickenbone John & Roosterman. I'm confident that interest and demand is bigger than ever, so I've secured an amazing venue. It's at thePublic, in West Bromwich, West Midlands, (right next door to Birmingham). It's a new arts centre...and we are going to be right at the focus of it for the day. After last year's event it was obvious that the venue was probably going to be too small...so I've done a lot of looking round, and managed to land this. I've played there several times at jam sessions, so I know the venue, the PA and the sound engineer...If you missed last year's inaugural event, now's the time to get the date in your diary.Watch out for more details as ideas and events develop!LATEST NEWS (2nd October 2010)"Cigar Box Revolution - Made In The UK" documentary short by LiSaMilano will have its first public screening.LiSaMilano will also be filming this year's event.Special guests BabaJack will be joining us during the day (timings to be confirmed)"Songs inside The Box" CBG documentary will be screened during the day.Evening ticket £5.00All day ticket (includes evening performance) £25.00Concession prices for student/JobseekersEvening ticket £3.00All day Ticket £15.00Special combo All Day Ticket/1 night hotel accommodation £20.00 (limited availability)For concession tickets, please message me direct.Tickets available fromhttp://chickenbonejohn.bigcartel.com/

  • Looking forward to it !!
  • Yet more stuff happening good people - the documentary short "Cigar Box Revolution - Made In The UK" will have it's first public screening (I've had the preview DVD..and its great!!!), and BabaJack will be performing as special guests.
  • Hey John - don't know if anyone else from down here in the sticks might come up but there was some interest when I played in the town square in July - can you email your flyer to me or Lesley and I will put one up in the music shop where I am displaying my guitars
  • STOP PRESS

Tinqui8 has booked his flight and will be arriving on the Friday night!!! That completes final confirmation of the headline acts!

Roosterman, JuJu and myself will be setting up at the venue on Friday, and then going out for a drink and a bite to eat..if you are around and fancy joining us, get in touch. nothing fancy, and as yet nothing definitely arranged...so it will all be pretty impromtu and off-the-cuff....it's likely to be either the bright lights of Birmingham..or a grass-roots pub in the Black Country (where they brew their own ale on the premises) and a hearty curry or a Desperate Dan "Cow Pie" and a few pints of "LumpHammer" at the Tipton Pie Factory...don't say I don't know all the best places to go...and we might even find some live music to round off the evening with...

    Regards

    John
  • Just had it pointed out to me that I'd mis-spelled "Cigar" on the top line of my flyers and poster...AAARRRGGGHH...lack of proofreading and seeing what I wanted to see..what an idiot!!! Anyway, sorted it now...It's getign to me I tell you!!!
  • Mark..we are kicking off at 10.00am, but don't worry, the first part will be 'meet and greet' and general introductions and socialising. I'll be putting together the full programme shortly, so if you need to to be making decisions as to which workshop to go into, hopefully I'll have got all this up on the site so people know exactly what's on at what time, and if necessary they can pick and choose in advance.

    Regards

    John
  • I'm booked into the Premier Inn at 144 High Street, which seems to be a short walk from the venue (checked it out on Google street view).

Due to vehicle issues it looks like I might have to come by public transport - most convenient seems to be West Bromwich Central Metro station, which is also just a short walk from the venue (and also close to the Premier Inn).
Metro service seems to be a train every 8 minutes and connects to Wolverhampton main line rail (20 mins away) and Birmingham.

Earliest I can get there from where I am is 11am so it looks like I might miss the first hour.
  • Just let you know Got my Tickets Today and my flyers
    Many Thanks Mr chickenbone
  • Car parking -the public car park across the road from the venue is just £2.00 all day, free after 6.00pm.
