The CAT is back and the guitars are the stars at this exciting event. Last years SMASH SUCCESS was an unexpected surprise and we're doing it again this year. Come hear some great blues, rock, folk, gospel and plenty of surprises from some of Kansas City's best cigar box guitar artists as well as some closet performers at OPEN MIKE opportunities throughout the afternoon.
Additionally, there will be raffle tickets sold for drawings throughout the event for cigar box guitars and cigar box guitar-related items. Proceeds will benefit the Kansas City BLUES IN THE SCHOOLS program, of which I am intimately involved in. If anyone has items to DONATE to the cause, please contact me here with your interest. Cigar Box Guitars, cigar box guitar accessories, cigar box guitar CDs and DVDs--I'll use it all!

ALL RIGHT!!! I actually found this notice BEFORE THE EVENT! And it's in my town, at a joint I've been thinking I need to go back to for whatever reason.
I'm working on my first CBG right now, but should have at least one to donate by August even with a busy summer planned. These ain't that hard to build!
I plan on being there too with the family.

OK, it looks like we're gonna run a raffle similar to last year's for the Blues in the Schools program! If you have cigar box guitars, related accessories (pickups,) CDs, DVDs--anything to donate for the drawings, that'll be great! Last year we got a lot of fantastic contributions. Let's do it even bigger this year! Contact me her with what you have. I'll tell you how to get it to me, unless you're coming to the festival!
