This workshop is designed for the complete novice, absolute beginner to strummed stringed instruments. We'll be working on diatonically fretted instruments (plays only do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do, etc. No fa sharp!) so you can't play a wrong note. This is the same kind of fretting you'll find on lap/mountain dulcimers, a folk music standard for decades. We'll learn some tunes mostly by ear and a handful of basic chords that will get you playing lots of songs., We will take a look at some dulcimer tabs so you can continue to play on your own from music you can download from the internet. We'll pop on a capo and play a few sad tunes, too! And if you fall in love with your CBG, you can purchase it from the Different Strummer right after class and take it home. Simple to play, simple to learn, but incredibly complex in its own way. Like that board game, "a minute to learn, a lifetime to master!"$15, instruments provided
