Where does the magic happen in a piezo?

Hello, the reason I ask is because I got some piezos but they are a little too large diameter. I was wondering if you can trim the brass disk diameter smaller? I dont really know but it seems like it is the center that does the magic. I want to drill a shallow pocket on the neck just below the bridge,but the ones I have are a little too large.

As long as you still have 2 wires attached to brass and ceramic it should work.

Thanks for the info,I should have searched first. Its kind of unbelievable how much you can cut them and still work. Mine I am just trimming around the outer diameter a little so looks like that should not affect it at all.

I wouldn't cut all the way around because of seperation of the top and bottom pieces. Just my 2cents.
