This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Those turned out great, good fix.

Thank you sir. Maybe in 4 to 5 months i'll be finished. 6 months so far. off and on of course, more off.

Today I turned 55. I went to Harbor Freight yesterday and bought myself a 10" 15amp table saw, a 9" table top drill press and a 10" table top bandsaw for my new shop that I get to build. I need a belt/disc/drum sander and a small air compressor and I'll be done with big tools.

New shop will be 16' x 12' x 12'. Sloped roof with some overhead storage at one side. That's the plan anyway. Hopefully will have it built by next summer.

Happy Birthday! Congratulations on your "gifts". A friend of ours is letting me set up a shop in her garage, to me is like Movining into an abandoned UPS warehouse as opposed to working under a canopy and dragging everything in & out of my footlocker sized shed. 16x12! Boy it must be nice.

Thanks. I figured that if I'm going to build my workshop/shed, I may as well do it right.

I looked at all the pre-built sheds at the big hardware stores and they are overpriced garbage. The floor panels are too thin and the walls were particle board. All the roof/ceiling joists were plywood with particle board gussets and particle board sheets for the roof panels. These pre-made sheds at the size I wanted were 8k and I don't have any confidence in them as the floor would bend in as I walked across the floor. Laughable.

Build it out of bamboo, or related bamboo products. I'll help. we'll need a panama girl to soap up the screw threads.

That Bamboo can get expensive. I have some bamboo to build a CBG style guitar. First Act made a special run of Bamboo guitars and they had a great tone to them. Been wanting to build one for quite awhile now.

Yes.

I got a couple of Cutlery Organizers/holders at Walmart and a couple of Cutting Boards made of Bamboo. I should be able to make a couple of guitars out of that.

My brother did his kitchen floor with bamboo. Remember it being expensive. Must crunch it up, mix it with something, and form or extrude. I kinda like the idea of using real large pieces. My friend working on his 12th at least plane using stalks. Gotta hand it to him, he flew from Colorado to NJ in a Vagabond.

Congrats on the b-day and shop.  Last year I got a California compressor, only one gallon tank. It keeps up with nailers, inflates a tire etc but the best part is that it truly is quiet, like soft conversation quiet.  No affiliation but I would buy it again.

Thanks. I was thinking about a compressor to handle regular shop needs but also may do some spay painting. I thought that a 5 to 8 gallon might be big enough. Thanks for the recommendation.
