Built a Cajon - Can I install Piezo?

Hi Guys

Wondering if I could just install a 1/4 jack connected to a piezo and glue to the inside of my cajon drum box.

Would the piezo pickup the sound if there is no magnetic material (strings)

Piezo picks up on vibration, so yes it’ll work. I would use a preamp if you want it to get ahold of the sound? Cbgitty has a good preamp package at an economical price?

stomp box (foot drum) uses a piezo, cajon will work nicely, just watch out for microphonic feedback if the sound hole is pointed at a speaker...
