Very Nice.  Did she give you feedback on how it felt/setup/bridge height & radius?

Yes she said I needed to round the bridge a little more to make the strings a little easier to play one at a time. Basically I measured a violin while I was there and I needed to make the finger board from a 3 inch PVC pipe instead of a 4. She said it was surprisingly easy to play other than that. It is all a learning curve. I am so happy it worked

Very nice !! Having it in the hands of a good violinist, like this lady, makes a big difference but the instrument itself sounds quite good. Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks Jim, it is a good first try. I was working on a simple fiddle neck design that I could make quickly on my scroll saw. When the 2x4 challenge came up it was a good opportunity to try my design. It has quite a few flaws but still works. I am now in the process of redrawing it to fix the issues. I would be happy to send you a copy when I get them ironed out. The neck on this fiddle took me about 15 minutes to cut on my saw. (after the glue was dry from me resawing it).

That's your first fiddle build???

Just shoot me. That's pretty friggin' awesome!

Fiddles are hard to get right. A first attempt that plays even reasonably good takes a pretty high level of talent IMO. Very nice work!
