We are organizing a CBG workshop held one Saturday a month at the 61 roadhouse & kitchen in Webster Groves MO. (St. Louis Area).  This is also the home to the St. Louis CBG festival each year.

Bill Kunz of 61 has been generous in offering us a place to meet, practice, discussed ideas and what ever members decide to do with the time. Gary Herget and myself are contacts for this club and are open to ideas to make this a fun club. As soon as we have commitment from members, we can set up a Saturday each month to meet mornings. We haven't set a day or start time as of yet. We need to know who can commit at least to a start up and discuss as a group when and how we want to run this. Possibilities are great!

That sounds about right, the employee gets to fix what the bosses screw up. Good luck Rat.

Thanks Gary. Actually it's going really well. They're desperate enough to listen to me. : )  A few people have shot themselves in the foot. Which also helped me greatly. They are now searching for a flaw in the main glass cutting robot's computer program. So there is still problems. And employee skill problems that will have to be worked out over time. Like you pointed out. Management let the ball drop big time. And now I get to politely rub their faces in it. : ) So it's not all bad. And on a side note the costumer in question has also found problems on their side. One of their engineers can't read a tape measurer. Really hope this is all wrapped up soon. Miss you folks already. Hope to see some of ya in KC!

Franni bringing the club free boxes. Wonderful practice and we love it.

Thank you Franni!

Jason playing a tune on Mike Leeker's pandolin.

Wish I could have joined in today, would have been so much more fun than moving. Hope everyone had a great time will see you next month!

Yep, see you in October Gary!

Hope it goes smoothly for you, Gary!

Moving? That's no fun!
I missed too. Was scoping out an event that I hope to be a vendor at with some CBG's next year. In the meantime, I was support for my wife and mother's booth (those are 2 separate people...). ;-D

See y'all next month.

Bummer Gary. Hope unpacking goes smoothly. My you never have to say; 'Where did we pack this?" Or "Thought it was in that box." : ) Always good to support family James. Hope you get a booth and do well.

I missed again as well. But this time was my fault. After finally having a weekend I didn't have to work I over slept. Looking forward to October!

We had a really great time Saturday with several new members that brought in their builds. Very impressive builds I might add. A few jams popped up through the meet and a lot of sharing. Franni came to the rescue with a huge collection of free cigar boxes of which I scored two really cool boxes, so thank you Franni! I got to work out a future trade with new member for his unique oil can or tin cans for a build I have in mind. I encourage swaps and giveaways cause they're awesome! I'm open for trade offers. We have set an official date for our club build contest in the 3 or 4 string CBG of best sounding and coolest build will take home the Boss Loop Pedal donated by Justin Johnson. Thanks Justin! Date set is Decembers meeting, bring your Christmas song originals if you got them and we will all jump in and jam a merry tune.  Contest & club meet is 12-17-2016

Totally cool to hear the CBG club is getting bigger.

Here it is folks, Justin Johnson's famous loop pedal that kicked off some of his biggest tours. He is handing it down to the future master looper. Last tested by Justin, this is a user friendly multi loop station. Easy to operate and learn by watching a few you tube instructional videos. Manuals are available free to down load on line and power/connectors are accessible through on line or local music stores. These cost big bucks!!!

You can win the trusty work horse by entering the next St. Louis CBG club builders contest on the 17th of December, where anything goes meaning you can enter any design shape or size string instrument be it ukulele, violin, diddley bow, lap steel, bass or what ever you can conjure. Winner will be picked by a selected judge or judges maybe me because I'm not competing and haven't been paid off yet. I'm thinking it should have good tone and catch the judges eye with some unique attribute. All in all, it's just to have fun and somebody will be the lucky looper so lets be in good spirits, it's that time of year for cheer! Additionally and traditionally we bring small gift exchanges in December, things that are related to our club and builds. It can be anything from picks, parts, music, strings, photos and paintings, someone brought hats, I had kazoo's. Be creative and lets have have fun. See you all next meeting and we can share thoughts on this together, I like all of your ideas.
