Hi Uncle, hi community.

Unfortunately I often miss many good vids and contributions due to my never resting effort in writing new music, build instruments and other things (I had never used any tool until the age of 25 when our headmaster asked me to teach crafts at school). And I really feel sorry for that. 

But I've got a family (we spend a lot of time together), a job ... and thousands of hobbies. 

So, from time to time, I fly in and stay for a few weeks and then fly away and return... 

This is the best community I've ever experienced, so keep it alive and don't stop posting personal posts and comments.

Thorsten, I think you are doing a combination of what you need to do and what you love to do.   That is good.

this sums up my feelings exactly thorsten. when i have time i like to check out some stuff on cbn but i seem to avoid the guys who constantly post stuff and seek out people i haven't heard before - my loss i guess. although i do like to hear stumblecol when he's around.

Great Statement John! I think the people i tend to watch and follow, are authentic contemporary artist in there own right, its not just the building and the playing, its the hole Picture,The Big Picture so the say, Performing for a possible public can bee 

done in ones own time, under ones own conditions,radiating a general or exceptional moment in time, whit a gesture,color,and sound. Its verry attractive way of stating your case or thing, there are many ways of how to do this in a creatif and atractif way, A picture tells the story, more than a thousand words.That people can comment on this is communication it benefits your work, getting feedback and compliments, or other remarks helps you make a better statement, a work in progres ,in the past time doing my thing on CBN  gives me satisfaction for the time and efford you put in.But that you are in it together is the beauty of it, that you are understood, and that people relate to your work is a spice of live! Freedom of expression is a beautyfull thing, not everything is from the same quality , but thats not a subject

just the input, will do in this case,everyone whit his or her own talents ! two many Words I here Wes Say! Greeeettsszzz.

I respond randomly to pics and videos. What ever it is that grabs my attention at the time. You're are spot on about cultivating active response by sharing your own comments you invite others. I also am guilty of viewing dozens and leaving no response.

I'd rather not respond when I'm drifting along and liable to say something lame.

From top to bottom I truly enjoy everyone's pics and videos.

Hi Uncle John! I really appreciate your initiatives and your builds and your videoes and that includes both your own  and others' songs. I'm still old (72) but as cbguitarist very young and mostly I stick to building. When I play I see to that no one (maybe except my sons( when they are at home visiting) and my wife) listen.I believe I'm a hummer. But your sincerity and very personal style inspires me so maybe I take the chance one day?? When it comes to commenting other members' builds I am getting continuous impressed by all the nice instruments I see and reead about. I have some favorites like you, Maddog, Crockbite etc (I surely could have listed up some hundreds I think). So thanks Uncle J for reminders and good work both materially and spiritually. Your'e a great guy for the great CBNation! The best from Bjorn

I am pretty new to Cigarboxnation.  I agree that this community is a lot like the local music scene. I guess respect is received when given.  I'm usually a quiet person anyways so I tend not to say much.  Also, i'm on several other forums for motorcycles, riding groups, hot rods, etc. that makes it impossible to be soley invested.  Right now, Cigarboxnation is at the top of my list.  Right now, i'm going through the photo gallery starting from the oldest.  There's about 4,000 photos and you guys keep adding so i'm not even half way through.  There are a lot of good guitars but the ones i REALLY like, i will click the like button.  I've seen some that had zero and just think that people missed it or didn't see it.

I played extreme heavy (death) metal guitar on stage for 10 years and recorded 2 CDs.  I got tired of the scene and quit.  I like to build things.  The more i got into motorcycle riding, the more bluesier my listening has shifted.  I really enjoy Clutch, The Showdown, Curtis Stiger, etc. 

I have no idea how i came across cigar box guitars but that is how i stumbled across this site.  My goal is to add bottleneck slide into some heavy metal.  With that, my blues playing sucks, my slide sucks, and my building in shaky but i like designing and this seems to be a good hobby combining designing, building, and music.  I think this can also get my 3yr old son more involved in music.
