I did not say I collect busking money in a bra. I would never do that wearing a Tyrolean fedora.

all  this time  i've  been  doing  it   wrong  ,,,,  collecting bras   on stage  .. :-/

I seldom wear a hat in the shower and do not ALWAYS wear a hat to play CBGs.   I take it off to play the National Anthem.

I find that when playing alone, wearing a hat is like playing within earshot of a trusted friend...it might not do much of anything, but you know it's there, and sometimes that's enough. On a more serious note, some hats reflect sound off the brim (while simultaneously blocking other sounds), so it's like having really big Dumbo like ears focused on your guitar.
