My thoughts and opinions as I drink my second PBR with spicy hot V8 juice.   PBR and spicy hot V8 juice.  Cheap and good.  Like CBGs.

I see a decline in the numbers of videos and photos posted on CBN.   Is interest decreasing?

I have a shit-load of opinions on this, but right now, I want to hear what you think.  What is the state of the CBG world and where is it going?

Me too.  You might be right!

My friends and me are working to promote "CBG philosophy", i fell in love when i discovered this movement and the Nation in 2011...I was building guitars for "old" friends birthdays !... we built BSA french festival... it became international at the first time... from one year, I work too much to be often or to stay connected... but i'm still in love... for ever...  because i got the blues since i was very young... now i'm learning to play it better with you all ! Thanks you everybody !

CBG philosophy.   Interesting.   Different for each of us.   Hmm.  Make our own.   Re-purpose.   Sometimes make-do.  Worry less about what anyone else thinks.   Find our inner creativeness.  Honor the past.

Have fun, smile, laugh, learn, repeat.

Yes Uncle John... each one his own... sharing the same Nation... sharing happy (or sad) experiments... becoming what/who we were at the beginning... all different but all the same... human being playing CBG... looking at clouds going away... dreaming another Earth...  all these personal stories make the Story... guys like you are writing it! writing several pages every day!... the legend is gioing on!... i ve to thank and thank again all good friends who make that CBG World more and more interesting... honor the past to give a better future to our children... i'm dreaming i know, but maybe it's true !... i m writing these words with fun too,..but seriously!.... i don't know where we go, but we go there... not easy to be completely free and choose our way of life for ourselves...

CBGs are a niche market that is now, not so niche.  5-8 years ago, someone almost had to come to the main website (first the yahoo group, then CBN) to get help with build questions and to strut their stuff.  And, with only one major festival a year (Huntsville), most had no direct contact with other CBGers.  The website was our community.  Now, there are many festivals (eg. two in Missouri, both well run and attended), all kinds of "How to build/play" resources, so that CBN isn't necessary.

Would I rather post here or... be getting ready for the next festival, gig, or fair/show?  For many old timers, the second choice is the best.  For me, a little of both.....

I think all things play out and then come back. The main thing is to make sure you are putting quality work out.
I will also say I meet people all the time that have never heard of a cbg. The problem is they don't want to pay for it. Some try to build their own and I think most dismiss it entirely.

My builds were quite terrible so I don't mind paying for them. Also I like showing people them and hopefully give the builder some new customers.

I've said it before: the passion of something revolutionary that started this whole wave has given way to a micro-analytical "hobbyist site" here.
We've talked it, posted about it - come up with 8 gazillion ways to construct one - and kicked it all around til the cows came home. After awhile: just celebrating and talking about the instrument in the ether - only partially satisfies. I prefer interacting with folks in there "here and now". I'm still out here doing my little part to take it to the streets. That's where the revolution moved to.

The nation is all well and good. A great site, I mean no real disrespect - but it's just difficult to find the time to participate as much as I once did. When something has to fall by the wayside in a time-crunch world - I tend to stick with the tangible side of the CBG world. When you think about it - there's nothing that's more of an antithesis and backlash to our ever more digital world than the CBG, anyway. Simple. primitive. Real. Play the damn things for living human beings that don't expect it. That's where the real fun is. :-)
