Hi,
Like I stated. I have built one. A strat neck, elec. and hardware of the same. Used a Rocky Patel cgb. I learned a lot, but now I have even more questions. In time I guess they will all be answered. Thanks for having me.

Un fortunately, I have ordered these for their looks. I do not have much info. But thanks. I did not know that tidbit, higher resistance should be a bridge location. I would assume a lower resistance pick up would not have the highs? Is this correct?
Thanks in advance
Joe D.

I believe yes. Also consider that the strings vibrate more at the neck position, less at bridge. If the pickups were reversed, the bridge pickup would sound flat and less bright, and the neck pickup would be too aggressive (not that that is a bad thing, all depends on what the player wants to experience).

Well, just today. The first parts, for some future builds, came in. Now I have 3 maple.on maple unfinished strat/Tele necks. These 2 new ones have locking nuts already installed. That brings me to a total of 5 to build with. Although one of the necks is quite unusual. It is an Italian made acoustic neck, that bolts on like an electric. 20 some fret jobbers. Guess I will have to build something funky around that one.
Well, Farmer Ted. I recieved a package in the mail. It contained lots o goodies. Including, 2 dual hot rail pups. Unfortunately for me, there were no installation instructions. I will be posting pics this weekend.

Thanks in advance.

Well it has been a while, has it not. That first cbg sold for a fair price. Should be getting to its new owner tomorrow. Started on into a new build. It's in the final stages of assembly. But i have a pesky question. I am using a single volume pot a 500k ohm. Controlling a Fender humbucker. Should I use a cap. to jump across the pot, to allow some of the treble to bleed over? If yes, what rating should i try and get close to?

Thanks in advance

Not sure about that. Might need a blend pot rather than a standard pot if using only one pot in build. Much easier to use a second pot as a tone control...lots of wiring diagrams in 'Groups" section of the Nation to see how. Capacitor value for humbuckers range from .033uF to .047uF. The higher the uF rating, the more treble is bled out to ground.

As it turns out, on this build. I am not going to need a treble bleed circuit. The pup is hotter than I expected. Sounds good from low to OMG distortion. just running it through a small amp.

Thank you all for you supper and replies.

Sorry about being away for so long. Life got busy. But I have been working on some CBG stuff all the same. here are some pics of what I have been doing. I took one of my CBG's around to see what kind of interest I could drum up. Boy I was surprised. Things are looking up, down here in San Diego. Let me know what you think.

First pic is my take on the proverbial 7yr itch, I call it my 10yr Gretsch.

The second is Going to be a short scale bass using a Ditka box and a vintage Norma bass neck, its straight but needs new frets (something new to learn).

The last one is very special to me. I stopped at my local smoke shop and lounge. The owner was not there the first day, but a week later I figured. What the heck, couldn't hurt. So I stopped in again. The owner was in that time. And he got real excited to see a CBG, even though it has 6 strings. He said he could sell it for me. I thought he was pulling my leg. Shook hands I took off. Well I stopped in that weekend, He was there, and straight away. He asked where the guitar and display were at and how soon I could get it to him. well 2 weeks later I was able to install and set up the CBG in the spot he wanted.

And there we go. Never know whats coming around the corner.

Sorry folks, I have been away far too long. Still working on getting the next 6 string off the bench. getting closer to being done, or so I think.

I have a couple Ditka boxes,1 is going to be a 3x3 Fernandez neck,1 hum,1single coil hardtail strat type bridge.

Yours looks really cool.I like the doubled up 3 strings.May have to try that!
