Got an iPhone?
I know a guy who's got an app that does exactly this, word is he's recruiting beta testers who get to try it for free ;)

Update

I used the Wfret template to mark the fret position and it worked out spot  , so d/l direct from site and not saved PDF files

cool

http://www.ekips.org/tools/guitar/fretfind2d/

will make any scale you want and send you a .pdf to print out.  Make sure that your print is set to actual size and not shrink to fit or some other custom size.

I tried to use that site before but nothing seems to work ?? , how do you get a scale template ?

type in the variables on the left side of the screen. Scale, fingerboard width etc.  You will see the picture change to match.  Then click on one of the "save to disk " buttons.  Usually PDF multi-page is the easiest.  Then it sends a template for you to save to your computer.

Can only type in fingerboard width , number of frets and number of strings and imperial or metric and that's it nothing else works ? and no picture you speak of ?

The fretfind interface looks like this.  If it doesn't, you might try a friend's computer.  In the meantime, I will attach a 24" scale pdf.

My screen doesn't look like that , must be the Firewall blocking it , i'm using IE10 and Win7 Ult .

I made you a 24" four string one to try, comes out perfect for me if i set it to print at 100%, let me know how you go.  the tuners on there are gittys budget jobbies.  I find using a ruler (over the top of the printed ones) really helps join up the pages exactly right. enjoy

Thanks for that , I've printed it out , didn't print the headstock but the frets printed ok , thanks again .

The first page didn't print?
I don't understand that..
But p two and three scales right for you when you check the printed ruler against a real one?
