"Ok. Yeah, those pre-amps have been good for me except for one I bought on ebay that took 2 watch batteries instead of the 9v battery I expected. Try turning down the gain. Those pre-amps are meant for more acoustic tone than hot electric."

"Piezo? Oh, you mean like an acoustic guitar or uke pre-amp with rod piezo? Does it buzz even with the amp gain turned down a bit?"
"have you grounded the bridge? sounds like the strings are not grounded. "
"Grounding is the cause of this 99.9% of the time. In a small number of other cases, it could be caused by florescent lights, a bad audio cord or an un-grounded wall outlet where your amp is plugged in. Start with the grounding on your guitar."
