Fret board

Hey ya'll Max again. I have yet to make a guitar with a fret board. My next build is going to have one. What is the rhyme and reason for the spacing in between the frets? Thanks!

My family use to go to Jekyl a lot when I was a kid and my dad and I would go every year for golf for the for many years. The Crab Shack on St. Simons had unbelievable sea food. I think it was St. Simons. It might have been Sea Island. One of them. Many good times there. I do miss the Ga. coast. See you around. Max
