Hi Lee, wondering how those first cbg's turned out. School's back in, of course, so not so much time for playing, building, or fishing, but i do have a new guitar in the works, over here... http://www.cigarboxnation.com/photo/albums/leaf-3-resonator

Wow, less than a week since hearing "CBG" for the first time and you have a couple built! That's great, Lee.

Only a few days before going back to work, so I've started tinkering with my next project. Believe I'm going to try a resonator using paint can lids or some other found object.

As for uploading photos, it's pretty simple. click the "add photos" link on your page, navigate to the file on your computer, and upload. smaller jpegs work best. looking forward to seeing your instruments!
cheers,
craig

Lee,
I enjoyed meeting you all at the CBG Festival. Don't worry too much about that first build. For most folks, including me, the first attempt is all about learning. Ask lots of questions, do some research here on the site, make some goofs (we have a group page for for particularly interesting goofs!), and just enjoy the process. CBGs are a very forgiving medium. As we say around here, there are no rules in building and playing cigar box instruments.

I'm a high school teacher, and teachers are unabashed thieves. Same with cbg enthusiasts. See a great idea for a bridge design or a construction technique on someone's build? Use it! Like that guitar of mine you saw? Well, you'll love the instruments being built (and the music being made) by a guy named Mike Snowden, because I used his work as inspiration (thanks, Mike). I saw some things at the fest that will likely show up in some of my future builds.

So, get some parts and a few tools and be sure to keep us up on your progress. As a friend told me when I took up fly fishing years ago, welcome to your new addiction!

Lee,
Welcome to the Nation. You'll find everything you need around here to get started. It's a very open and friendly community. Poke around the website, look at pictures, read old posts, ask questions, have fun!
