Thanx for all the comments, folks! The amp started life as a Rogue practice amp (maybe 10 - 15 watts max), 6" speaker. All the critical electronics are mounted right on one circuit board, pots and all; I used the speaker, amp board, and transformer for the build. A lot of the other bits and pieces are scavenged from several Habitat Restores in my local area - I highly recommend checking out those in your area. The base box is mahogany, from some sort of electrical apparatus, last used at the General Conference Corp., in the Physics Dept.. A possible build date was marked inside, sometime in 1944. The brass top is cut from a door kickplate. The cylinder section holding the speaker is a slice from a fire extinguisher. The knobs are brass curtain rod finials with wood dowel epoxied in, and drilled to fit the pot shafts. Add a period toggle switch, plumbing flange, a few lamp parts, copper fittings, and that's about it. One note: If you have one of these amps, and note that the amp IC's heatsink is tied to ground, it needs to be grounded in its new configuration to keep it from picking up the AC line hum.
