Welcome to C. B. Gitty Crafter Supply

C. B. Gitty Crafter Supply is your increasingly one-stop shop for finding the parts and gear you need for building and playing cigar box guitars, other hand-made instruments, and even store-bought instruments.

Over the last year and a half we have been working very hard to build our product line to include many of the things you have asked for: from fret wire, to fretting guides and tools, to electronic components, decorative hardware, instrument hardware and more. Our focus has always been on finding the best suppliers for quality goods at great prices, so that the savings can be passed onto our customers. We got into this because it seemed like the established big supply houses were making way too much profit on what they were selling, and we felt we could do better - and we have.

This group on Cigar Box Nation is intended to be the central point for product updates, annoucements, new product requests, general annoucements, testimonials, general how-to discussions and more. All are welcome, and your participation is appreciated! We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has done business with us thus far, and we look forward to working with more of you in the future.

Just got my shipment a few days ago. Fast shipping, especially since Canada customs usually slows the process which it didn't this time. Will not be last time I order from them. Thanks so much for allowing me to get all my parts from one place. Made the hunt go a lot faster. I'll be ordering more stuff as soon as I finish my first build.

Sorry Hank, it's getting harder and harder to get to every question in all of the places they appear. If you register on our site and add items to your shopping cart, then when you view the basket it will show you the calculated shipping costs. I can tell you that getting a 36" long piece of wood to Europe is not cheap, as it has to go priority mail due to the length.

So no answer to my question, only to the UK complaint?

Comment by Ben "C. B. Gitty" Baker on November 18, 2012 at 2:03am

Unfortunately the UK has some of the lowest limits on import values. 18 pounds (about $25USD), plus they get you for that handling charge. For comparison, Australia allows up to $1000USD without charging any import duties.

A warning for UK customers - I am still awaiting a couple of kits I ordered which have been held up by Royal Mail. They first of all imposed a £8 ($12.71) handling charge as there was some import duty($7.51) to pay on a $38 order. I have paid this online and still await delivery. My fault was I ordered two kits at $19 each. Had I ordered each kit seperately I would have avoided import duty (below $25) and saved considerably.

Hi,

I bought some parts through eBay from CBGitty, but necks don't seem to be included, although they are on this site. How much would it cost to ship a neck to The Netherlands?
Thanx, Hanx

Here is the link for the bevel files, by the way: https://www.cbgitty.com/cubecart/small-fret-bevel-file-4-3-4-inch.html

THEY'RE BACK!

After a LONG hiatus, fret beveling files are once again available from C. B. Gitty Crafter Supply! We stopped making these a couple of years ago due to time constraints, but now we have the resources to do them again!

Available in short 4.75" and longer 7.75" sizes, for smaller and larger instruments.

Mike, builders use them both ways. Some install them square like in a standard electric, others angle them so that the 6 poles are under all 3 strings... it's up to you, find what works best for you!
